The International Polytechnic Winter School 2021 in online mode


International Polytechnic Winter School 2021, like the summer school, will be held online. From 11 to 29 January 2021, Polytechnic University will implement 21 programs in six areas: engineering and natural sciences, information and digital technologies, civil engineering, energy, business and management, Russian language and culture. All of them will be held in the format of webinars and project activities. At the end of the training, participants who will have successfully completed the courses will be able to obtain international certificates with ECTS credits, which they can use at home university.

“In 2020, Polytechnic University has significantly expanded its experience in conducting large-scale international events online. The International Polytechnic Summer School gathered on a virtual platform more than 300 participants, and the Second Russian-Spanish Language and Culture Week brought together over 700 people from around the world. A significant interest in the International Polytechnic Winter School is also shown by the foreign audience: already now coordinators have received more than 100 applications from potential participants. We are also very pleased that our project has been supported by foreign partners – SOKENDAI University (Japan) and the University of Lorraine (France) – for several years,” commented vice-rector for international affairs Dmitry Arseniev.

In 2021, the International Polytechnic Winter School prepared several new educational modules: Artificial Intelligence for allBig Data: theory and application and Power Electronics. Two courses will be held jointly with foreign partners: together with SOKENDAI University Polytechnic will conduct the program of  Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion — Winter School, and the Sport Management & Marketing will be held together with the University of Lorraine and the International Network in Sport and Health Science (France).

The obligatory component of the International Polytechnic Winter School, the cultural part, will also be held online. Participants will be offered an interactive tour around the campus of St. Petersburg University, online quizzes on Russian history, and a virtual tour of the Hermitage.
