On May 8, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities of Russia approved the federal register of best practices (designs) for improvement that were implemented in 2019 in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and had passed competitive selection. It includes 132 projects in 49 regions. The Leningrad Region was among the leaders by the number of design projects put in the register. That said, four of the seven design projects implemented in the Leningrad Region of the ones included in the federal register were developed by employees, students and graduates of the SPbGASU Department of Design of the Architectural Environment under the supervision of Associate Professor Svetlana Danilova.

“The professional teamwork approach turned SPbGASU into an authoritative platform for the exchange of best practices among specialists in the sphere of landscape architecture, urban planning and urban environment design. In its turn, within the framework of cooperation with the administration of the Leningrad Region, this allows us to develop design projects that play a large role in the development of the region. I am grateful to the leadership of the university, colleagues, specialists of local administrations, the Committee of the Housing and Public Utilities of the Leningrad Region for the efficient and successful work within the frame of the federal program “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” and interaction within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Government of the Leningrad Region and SPbGASU. It is necessary to set new goals and objectives, accumulate successful experience at the level of the North-West Federal District and Russia, expand the prospects for international cooperation and attract the best world-class professionals,” says Svetlana Danilова.
