Starting this summer, the Summer School for Translation and Interpreting SPbU-2020 will review the latest issues in translation, discuss industry trends and teach the skills necessary for a successful career as a translator or interpreter.
We target not only university students of translation and translation studies, but also novice and professional translators, heads of translation agencies, teachers of translation, and anyone who wants to explore the profession in all its diversity.
This year the Summer School for Translation and Interpreting will be held in an online format and will showcase a unique panel of speakers, including prominent translators, interpreters and company executives working in various fields of the translation industry.
We have invited professionals who will speak of their extensive experience working with state leaders, leading international organizations, and representatives of modern companies involved in key, rapidly growing fields of business.
This year’s topics include: automated translation and post-editing, translation of audio-visual content, interpreting at State-level events and analysis of the typical errors of translators and interpreters when working with top public officials. Other interesting areas of the trade to be discussed are the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in translation, cross-lingual matchings, translator’s vocabulary and the employment of highly qualified professionals in the rapidly changing translation market.
You will learn which translation jobs will soon be in demand, what extra skills you need to build up, and how to improve them effectively.
