St. Petersburg Universities Increase their Lead in THE Rankings by Subject

According to THE World University Rankings by subject 2021 published on October 28, 2020, St. Petersburg universities are represented in 10 out of 11 subject areas: Psychology, Business & Economics, Social sciences, Art & humanities, Engineering & technology, Physical sciences, Life sciences, Clinical, pre-clinical & health, Computer science, Education.

Five universities of the city have entered THE World University Rankings by subject 2021: St. Petersburg State University – in 9 subject areas, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University – in 6 subject areas, ITMO University – in 5 subject areas, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University – in 3 subject areas, St. Petersburg Mining University – in 2 subject areas. Besides, THE updated subject rankings includes Saint Petersburg campus of HSE University and the North-West Institute of Management under Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

In total, the new data from THE World University Rankings by subject 2021 shows that both St. Petersburg and Russian universities have increased their lead:
as many as 48 Russian universities in 11 subject areas are represented in the updated rating now, while all the previously ranked universities of the city have confirmed and significantly improved their positions.
