Since the first years of its existence, St. Petersburg State Forestry University named after S.M. Kirov has been a leader in developing new scientific research areas and training highly qualified specialists in all the forestry spheres.
The serious attention is paid to developing the practical skills and professional habits of students in the field of modern technologies and productions, expanding cooperation with industry and organizing basic departments at the industrial enterprises.
Timber industry organizations provide jobs for students during the period of their production practice, assist to equip our laboratories and offices with modern technology. The experienced specialists of manufacturing enterprises are involved in the training process. It allows the graduates to adapt themselves successfully to production being in labor market demand.
