St Petersburg University invites foreign citizens to prepare for successful admission

12.05.2020

St Petersburg University opens a call for applications for the non-degree academic programme ‘Preparatory Course (for international citizens)’. Students from all over the world come to St Petersburg to study the Russian language and to get ready for the ‘Test of Russian as a Foreign Language’.

The preparatory course gives the opportunity to prepare for bachelor, master and specialist studies in the Russian language. Students can choose between the following areas: natural sciences, engineering sciences, humanities, economics, and medicine and biology. In the first semester, there are only classes for learning Russian (more than 20 hours per week). In the second semester, in addition to learning Russian, students study the course titled ‘Introduction to the Language of Speciality’. They learn basic terminology and grammatical structures of the academic language of three disciplines in their area of specialisation.

In the preparatory course students have every possibility to get first-hand experience of Russian culture, to get acquainted with its unique traditions, and to make friends from different countries. Meetings of the Russian club of the preparatory course are held once a month, and students can: take part in culture nights; take walks around the city; visit museums; and practice speaking skills.

You can apply until 1 July, 2020 here: prep.spbu.ru

Please note that the number of places is limited.
