Any project starts with an idea. For the further implementation and development of a quality product, certain knowledge is required in the areas to be influenced. St Petersburg University is launching a new area of specialisation ‘Website Design’. It touches the intricacies of the concept, design and promotion of a website.

A series of courses will help you to perfect the skill of creating websites – one of the most requested services on the market today.

The area of specialisation includes the following courses:

Each course is provided with case studies and task solutions. In addition to theory, students will have practical assignments: from designing a website to working with services such as Yandex Metrics or Google Analytics. At the start, students will study: the artistic composition of the site; the logic of its design; and the technology of organising work in the process of creating a project design. A detailed familiarity with the world's most popular content management system, Word Press, will help novice developers to acquire practical skills.

During the training, students will get acquainted with key technologies of electronic marketing: information retrieval on the Internet; fact-checking; news monitoring optimisation; content development for corporate and promotional sites; designing and publishing Internet advertising on various platforms; the mechanics of social media marketing; the use of viral technologies; work with instant messengers; and much more. Learning mathematical techniques for analysing website data can help you gather additional information and prepare it for processing in Microsoft Excel.

10 months of training will make it possible to learn to: visualise and promote any concept on the web space; and design a logical, artistically expressive, working and popular website.
